What should I do Before PDO Threads?

The main way to prepare for your PDO thread (polydioxanone thread) procedure is to cut out the use of any and all blood-thinning medications or supplements at least a week before your scheduled appointment. This is to reduce the risk of complications like excessive bleeding or bruising

What Should you Try Not to Do After a Thread Lift?

To ensure the best results, there are several things you must avoid after a PDO thread lift. These include sleeping on your stomach or side, wearing makeup, drinking alcohol, making extreme facial expressions, and receiving facials and facial massages.

What to Avoid?

1. Avoid heavy exercises for 1 week, this causes extreme facial movements.

2. Do not touch or wash your face for 3 hours.

3. Do not pull down on your face for 2-4 weeks.

4. Sleep on the back for 3-4 days.

5. Do not chew gum or hard foods for 2 weeks.

6. Limiting facial movements will help lifting threads to stay in place, so no dental work unless strictly necessary.

7. Avoid heat in treatment areas like saunas, facial lasers or radio frequency treatment for 30 days.

8. Avoid medication that affect the blood clotting effects like aspirin, fish oils, vitamin's C, A & E for 7 days post and 24 hours Prior to your treatment

What Can Go Wrong with PDO Threads?

Potential complications include:

1. Visible sutures (especially in people with thin skin) – like minor bruising.

2. Rejection – The thread is a foreign body and might even be rejected by certain people, or it may start to protrude out of the skin.

3. Rippling – The threads may bunch up and cause the surface of the skin to appear rippled.

How Can you Tell if a PDO Thread Broke?

You may feel the puncture points used to insert the threads for a few weeks as they heal. There may also be a feeling of tightness from the pulling of the skin. In some cases, the threads can migrate or move. This can happen if the threads break,

for example. Stinging, “Pulling”, scratchy sensations will all disappear by week 4. Stinging and pulling pain, as well as the scratchy sensation you experience after your procedure, will begin to subside be week 2 and disappear by week 4.
